Tomorrow's Speaker

Tomorrow we are blessed to have Jim Goetz begin a 3 week series out of the book of Hosea on commitment this Sunday at 830am. Jim and his wife, Sandy, have been at WBC for over 30 years and have 3 sons. Jim has served as an Elder since 1997 and most recently as Charimen of the Board of Elders until earlier this year. Jim was instrumental as our church moved to North Avenue. He is the CIO at Convergys during the work week and on the weekends during football season, he is a big Packer fan (I know the Weston's and Engebretson's love this last fact). Jim is a terrific teacher, so be prepared to learn and be challenged.
PUT ON YOUR CALENDAR:
Our last Summer get together will be on August 25th at Northside Park in Wheaton at 5pm.

These are groups of around eight guys that will get together once a week to go through an intensive Bible study designed to equip you to be a strong and effective Christian leader at home, on the job, in the workplace and out in the community.

There is a beginning and end to this. It starts this fall, ends before summer and breaks for the holidays.

There are currently four groups setup with leaders from Covenant. If you would like to be a part of one let me or one of the others (Mel Priess, Chris Fallow, Mike Lewis, Toby Seifert, Corey Noonan) know. If you have already gone through this study you are welcome to go through it again.

Contact Matt if you would like more information. His email address is: mattkaufman@yahoo.com.

Existing Community Group Leaders: If you could please email Ryan Linenger and let him know what your plans are for the summer, if your group is changing at all, and/or if interested in having more people join your group. Ryan Linenger is reachable at: linenger22@hotmail.com

Announcements

This Sunday, the Judges will be back to start a series called "Frantic Family". It comes from the book by Patrick Lencioni titled The Three Big Questions for a Frantic Family: A Leadership Fable About Restoring Sanity to the Most Important Organization in Your Life.

Our families are growing, kids are doing more activities, work is demanding more of us....as a group we can see frantic around the corner. This will be a great series to help us gain clarity around setting goals and plans for our families before we get too frantic. We look forward to seeing you at 8:30am.

Between services, take a few minutes to visit the Global Outreach Center, where church will be honoring Cindy Judge for her nine years of service to our Global Outreach ministry. Cindy retired on March 1 after serving 6 years as Global Outreach Director and then three years part-time as Education and Missionary Care Associate. Cindy will be at the Global Outreach Center throughout the morning, so please stop by and extend your thanks and best wishes … and enjoy some refreshments!

On Saturday evening, March 10th at 7:30pm, all Covenant guys (and any guests) are invited
to gather at the Adams' home to watch the movie Courageous. While it will be a great time of hanging out, this isn’t meant to be a warm and fuzzy event—this a huge opportunity for us to gather as men to encourage one-another to be better husbands and fathers and to lead our families as God intended us to. Please respond to Brian Adams if you can make it so he can plan for food and drink.

Lastly, it is the 1st Sunday of the month, so plan on joining us at Portillo's after the 9:45am service for some good food and fellowship.

Baby News: The Miller Family

Nate and Crystal announced the arrival of their second son, Brooks Matthew Miller. He arrived on Saturday, February 25 and was 7lb 8oz and 21 inches long. Mom, dad and the big brother Rowan are doing well.
